PACES Voice — Terms of Service

By creating an account or using PACES Voice, you agree to these terms.
1. What PACES Voice is
PACES Voice is an AI-powered practice tool for the MRCP(UK) PACES examination. The simulated patients, examiners and feedback are generated by artificial intelligence and are for practice only.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of line with current guidance. Never use it to guide the care of real patients. Apply your own clinical judgement at all times.
PACES Voice is independent and has no connection with, or endorsement from, MRCP(UK) or the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or over. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything done under your account. Contact us at info@pacesvoice.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
3. Paid plans
Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price shown at checkout — currently £130 a month or £330 for three months, including any VAT. Plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel.
You can cancel any time from the Billing page. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
4. Cancelling and refunds
As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a distance contract. Because PACES Voice gives you access immediately, we ask you at checkout to agree that access starts straight away and to acknowledge that you lose this right once you start using the service (for example, by starting a station). If you cancel within 14 days without using the service, we will refund you in full.
Otherwise, payments are non-refundable, including for unused time or change of mind. Your statutory rights — including if the service is faulty or not as described — are unaffected.
5. Free plan
The free plan gives limited access to the case bank and a limited number of attempts. We may change free plan limits at any time. We will not remove core features from a paid plan during a period you have already paid for.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- bypass or attempt to bypass usage limits, the paywall or account restrictions;
- copy, scrape, record, resell or redistribute the case bank, personas or generated content;
- share your account with anyone else;
- use the service for anything other than your own exam preparation;
- enter real patient information or anything that could identify a real person;
- submit unlawful, abusive or offensive content; or
- reverse-engineer the service or attempt to extract its prompts, models or systems.
7. Intellectual property
We (or our licensors) own everything in PACES Voice, including the cases, personas, feedback system and software. You have a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own exam preparation while your account is active.
You keep ownership of what you say or type during a station. You give us a licence to process it, including through the providers in section 8, to run and improve the service.
8. Privacy and third-party providers
We use Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, and Anthropic and OpenAI for the simulated patients, examiners and voice features. Your voice input and transcripts are processed by these providers to deliver the service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how long we keep it and your rights under UK data protection law.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep PACES Voice available and accurate but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, update or remove cases and features. If a change significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you and you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
Subject to that, we are not liable for your exam results, for any reliance on AI-generated content, or for loss of income, business or opportunity, or any indirect or unforeseeable loss.
Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
11. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms. Where reasonable, we will warn you first. If we close your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any unused part of your subscription.
You can stop using the service or cancel your plan at any time.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you at least 14 days before a significant change takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before that date; continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the new terms.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
